About
My artwork is largely informed by feelings of dissociation and disjunction. I was lucky enough to receive mental health intervention at a fairly young age, but struggled with personal identity and sense-of-self. These feelings, I believe, lend themselves to the hazy use of light and form in much of my work as well as a large portion of the subject matter. I often manifest notions of being fractional, out-of-body, etc. in the form of strange creature-characters. I make use of organic and liquidy forms, mixed human and inhuman features, and even elements of body horror to create characters with visually distinct emotion and personality.
I want to continue to learn and experiment with animation as a means to further build upon these creations. Through movement and narrative storytelling, I strive to expand the individual temperament and personalities of these characters as well as the environments they can exist in and interact with.
